AceStream - a new multimedia platform optimized for streaming torrents on VLC
VLC is one of the open source cross-platform multimedia player best known and appreciated by the users and not just Linux. The success of the player is mainly due to the support for the most popular media files and many built-in features as well as support for playback of streaming media such as YouTube etc..
From the VLC sources came the next-generation multimedia platform AceStream which allows us to play, manage, and share files in the best streaming all in a complete and well developed.
AceStream is a multimedia platform capable of providing many features based primarily on reproduction, management and sharing of media files using the Torrent technology.
The playback of multimedia files in support streaming via torrent is based on AceStream Player VLC media player based on optimized for playback of streaming files via torrent without waiting for the download of the content. The project also has a plugin for Firefox (acestream-mozilla-plugin) from which you can then play media files Torrent directly from the browser without having to download them.
The plugin also supports YouTube and other popular video sharing portals or slytiositi chr using technology Stream Torrent.
AceStream also lets you share our stream file, using various types of connection and sharing.
To Install AceStream in Linux Ubuntu 12.10/12.04/11.10 and Mint 14/13/12, Open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:
- sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://repo.acestream.org/ubuntu/ $(lsb_release -cs) main"
- sudo wget -O - http://repo.acestream.org/keys/acestream.public.key | sudo apt-key add -
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install acestream-engine acestream-full
